How to manage editors for your story map

Story maps are powerful tools for storytelling. As with any story, it is sometimes useful to work with other people who can change and add to your work. This guide will tell you how to allow people to edit to your story map, and how to remove them.

Owners of story maps can invite “editors” to join the map. Editors can do most things that owners can do, including publishing the story map and adding more editors. Editors can not delete a story map, or remove the owner.

Adding editors

  1. While editing a story map, select the button that says “invite” in the header. An invitation window should appear.
  2. In the field named “Editors”, write the email addresses of people who you want to edit your story map. As you type in each email, press “enter” or select the email address to enter it into Terraso.
  3. Once you have added the editors you want to work with, select the “invite button”.

Terraso will send messages to the email addresses you listed, inviting them to join the story map. The invite window will show the people you have invited. If they have not yet accepted the invitation, there will be a “pending” sign next to the invited user.

Removing editors

  1. While editing the story map, select the button that says “Invite” button in the header. A window should appear.
  2. See the list of “People with access” and look for the name of the person you want to remove.
  3. Select the button that says “Remove” next to the person’s name.
